He drops into this Class 3 Handicap Chase, after finishing 5th in a Class 1 last time out. They have lowered his mark by 2lbs for that race – only 4lbs up from his last win.
I’m hoping Bryony Frost will get Flic Ou Voyou running up with the pace/leaders and if all goes well, I can see a big day for both the trainer and jockey.

Summary: This is a very completive, 4 runner race, with some big hitters taking part. The one I really like for this contest is KNAPPERS HILL from the Paul Nicholls yard.
Having won over course and distance back in November, this is a great opportunity to register another win. That win came off a mark of 146, now off 153 that shouldn’t stop his progress.
I would forget his last win at Cheltenham, as that was over 2m4f but his ideal conditions seem to be 2m on good ground, having done most his winning over 2m to 2m1f.
Bryony Frost takes the ride for the first time, with Harry Cobden riding at Ascot but she is more than capable of keeping Knappers Hill up with the pace and producing him at the right time.

Summary: As you can see, I believe Saturday will be a big day for Paul Nicholls and Bryony Frost. They have some great chances, and I think they will have another one with SWITCH HITTER in the 3m1f Handicap Chase.
He is now on a mark of 134, 1lb higher when winning a similar race back in 2021. Bryony Frost took the ride that time and also keeps on board for Saturday.
Both trainer and jockey have decent records over this course when going over 3m and I can see no reason why that should change on Saturday.
There’s no standout front runner in the race but if Bryony can get the tactics right then I can see Swtich Hitter going very close again.
