Summary: Paul Nicholls is sending 3 horses for the Coral Trophy Chase this Saturday and looks to have a great chance at claiming another Class 1 victory, and the one I believe will do that for him is the 11-year-old, FRODON.
This horse has been incredible for connections, having won 9 Class 1 races at various courses.
Now on a mark of 161, he will be carrying top weight and will need to produce another massive run to beat some of these younger horses. The main danger in the race for me is one of Paul Nicholls’ other runners, Saint Calvados.
However, I really like the way Frodon jumps forward into a fence, keeping him up with the pace, and if Bryony can keep him there and they have left enough in the tank then I see no reason why victory number 10 in another Class 1 race is on the books.
Frodon also has course and distance form, having won here back in 2020 off a mark of 168 – ground conditions shouldn’t be a problem either.
